    Stuarts Draft

I just watched the highlight from this oct when Riverheads ran all over Stuarts Draft using the T formation. Im not a big fan of the T and from the looks of this game Riverheads runs it just like Union. Stuarts Draft has no defense what so ever. Just my opinion here but if the Jekyl and Hyde affect dont kill Union and the Bears show up to play ball, they can come away with a victory.

    Re: Stuarts Draft

That can be good and bad. It's good in that someone has run the ball out of the T and had success against them. It's bad in that if they have coaches and players worth their salt, they'll do their best to see that it doesn't happen again..and they already know the adjustments that will work for them. IMO, Union is a better team out of the I with Baugh and Davis than they are in the T anyways. The T makes them too predictable the way they run it and limits them. There are ways to make it less predictable, but I'm yet to see Union do it (counter toss anybody ?). I think they are better off using the T no more than they have to.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....

    Re: Stuarts Draft

Im so happy to read that someone sees that union is a ton times better out of the I than the T. Baugh is a monster out of the I and Davis gets the extra step he needs to get moving. IDK if Stuarts Draft have as tough of players as people may think but coaching on the other hand may be a different story. I hope that they are expecting to see us come up there and run the T and Union goes up running the I. That would give them the push they need to come out with a W

If only Union was anywhere close to Riverheads. Riverheads has been building a monster the past 5-8 years. Best of luck to Union and I hope they make us all proud but formations are the only similarities between Union and Riverheads.

I thought Riverhead was a wing T school

    Re: Stuarts Draft

Riverheads has ran slap all over everybody they have played this year not just Stuart's Draft. Central's opponent was somewhat respectable with them (28-13),and defeated Stuart's Draft 15-10. Good luck to all our teams this weekend

    Re: Stuarts Draft

I really wish this game wasn't 4+ hours away. I would really love to see it. It's definitely the best match-up in terms of teams from our area, right next to Gate City's game versus Dan River. I'm still fighting with myself over whether I'm going to attend the Burton/Haysi or GC/Dan River game.

    Re: Stuarts Draft

Stuarts Draft is a solid team that was a AA school last year. About half of the games they played this year were against AA schools also. Broadway(Div 4) who they lost to by about 15 points is 10-0 this year. Riverheads beat them easily this year, but last year Stuarts Draft beat them by 1 point. That being said Stuarts Draft barely beat a 3-7 Buffalo Gap team.

Good luck to Union and Central. I hope they both get big wins.

    Re: Stuarts Draft

Riverheads is a Wing T team, but the plays that they used to run all over Stuarts Draft were fullback blasts and Sweeps using the a halfback lined up beside the Fullback with the wing back dropping back just like a T. The blast plays I seen were lined up like a Half T with an offset wing but the ball was handed to the fullback right up the gut. Stuarts Draft had zero blocking on any down and no speed at all. Im in no way comparing Union to Riverheads. What I am doing is this, stating the fact that I was in no way impressed with what I seen out of them on highlight films. As far as scheduling for Stuarts Draft they had three teams that were not D2. Fort Defiance, Wayneboro, and Broadway the rest were D2 teams.
